Welcome to Eircooled
Our Ethos is simple; We promote, maintain, and encourage the use of classic aircooled vehicles. We run the club in an open, inclusive, and democratic environment. We encourage all members to have an equal say and part to play in the club.
We're clearing out the front room and have some glass display cabinets that someone might use. There's two identical ones and another, smaller one.
The two large ones are the kind you'd see in a commercial showroom or shop, they're 600mm x 600mm x 2M tall. There's three glass shelves inside...
this engine came out of the red Golf last night. CR code, 150k miles done. It was driving around the yard here not so long ago.
By the time it's ready to go it'll have some of the ancillaries removed as I need them to convert the 1.9 into the car but it might be useful to someone with a 1.6D...
I'm looking for a set of 4/5 good tyres for the red T3 bus. I have the choice of 14 or 15" wheels and would like minimum 97 load rated tyres. Before I go buying new ones, anyone got any "nearly new" ones for me?
I'm deliberately not putting up a tyre size, I'll see what's available and if...
I don't have any desire to ever own a 1302 so there's no point in keeping this bonnet. As you know, the 1302 is a two-year-only model so these bonnets are rare enough.
this one has a little crustiness along the bottom lip and one hole at the top left corner. Obviously it would need to be...
sticking this here in case I can't get one at the scrap yard/dealer tomorrow. I need a VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda etc relay number 200 before Friday.
will pay a premium for postage etc :)
part number is 7M0 951 253 or 431 951 253C or 823 951 253. All the same part.
anyone got one?
anyone got any idea where I could source used/cheap go-kart spares?
I need two rear hubs and a brake disk carrier for a 25mm axle. maybe one tyre too...
an odd size that won't suit too many of our VWs but just in case someone might use them, there's a chap on vagdrivers selling 4x used 14" white band tyres for €90. Maybe you're looking for that kind of look on your project?

and bear this...
For sale: 1Y code 1.9 diesel engine (non-turbo) from a mk3 Golf.
120k miles, timing belt replaced zero miles ago so ready for another 60k before it needs to be replaced again.
the engine came from a known, well-maintained local car (local to my dad). I've got a 1Y in my daily passat and it's...
While refreshing the brakes on the T3 I discovered the rear left suspension spring has broken at the bottom, i.e. the last loop was just sitting loose inside the rest of the spring.
So I went to the donor bus to whip one out and pop it into the red bus. BOTH rear springs are broken the same...
As alluded to in the previous Stradbally Vintage Rally thread, the signs are up for the Turbo Turnip Tournament: the Stradbally Steam Festival, Sunday-Monday August 5th-6th.
Despite the predicted "relentless rain", due to the amount of fossil fuels expected to be burned, Stradbally is assured...
I have this 1300 engine here that I'm not going to get too involved with as it's not something I *need* at the moment and I already have too many projects ;)
it's a 1300 twin port with dog-house oil cooler. twin hot-spot pre-heat pipes.
it's complete but looks in a sorry state as all the...
I only spotted on Boards.ie this morning that this was on and being at a loose end this afternoon I dragged the girls along to take a quick squint around between the showers.
there were a few VWs amongst the scowly auld wans in ringed UK import Morris Minors and wild turnip heads on ZV reg...
I have this 1600 engine here that I'm not going to get too involved with as it's not something I *need* at the moment and I already have too many projects ;)
it's a 1600 twin port with dog-house oil cooler. single hot-spot pre-heat pipe.
it's got the universal case with rear engine mounting bar...
I was just down with a neighbour of mine there this evening, he's after buying a '73 1300 beetle as a project. It's got a YIP reg, same as my beetle.
Interesting history behind it, it was won in a competition back in '73 with a caravan attached!! It still has the genuine VW towbar and it came...
anyone got an empty red rear plate and the letters T, Z and W and numbers 9,9 and 4 going spare?
I'm trying to make up a suitably rat-look number plate for the rear of the raT3, the rear one is missing off it.
Will exchange parts for cash ;)
I know it's that time of year when every tin-pot parish in the country has a "tractors and dog shite" day out for the local turnip-eaters. Next Sunday is Stradbally's turn.
It's not the huge "Steam Rally" where you get a particular breed of turbo-turnip-eaters, that'll be a few weeks from now...
not going to appeal to everyone here but I know some of you Eircoolers have watercooled skeletons in your closets too ;) These are ideal tyres if you're looking for "more lows" as they put it, or for stretching onto mad wide wheels.
I have a set of 4x Fulda Carat 175/50R13 tyres with 23 miles...
anyone been to one? They seem to be in a different part of the country every month.
I think I'll go to this one:

it's only over the road...
