It does indeed, I got the gearbox out of it in 2018/19, can't remember which. It's in Duts's Beetle now. The remains of the car weren't great. It looked like it had gone on fire, a resto had been attempted then abandoned. Finally left out in the weather to seal its fate.

The mk2 Jetta was mine. I bought it with only one owner on the book, did a mild restoration on it, got it NCT'd and sold it to the current owner in 2018. Sold it without adding myself to the book!

That's a shame that you've come to that decision. But hopefully someone will get a nice project and see it through. Is it an original Irish reg or import? 1300 or 1600? How much rust is there? All these are factors that a buyer will need to know.
