They reminded me of the steelies on my dad's diesel vento I think about 93 or 95 so same vintage as a late mk2 golf?. I remember they were wide as hell at the time, but maybe not so much compared to modern cars.

Could it be a type 3 kerman Nice pic of type 3 karmann without the roof? Actually no based on vents on quarter panel. Or a factory prototype type 3 convertible (unlikely)
