Hows things all,

Given the savage turn out last Sunday it got me thinking of the old days in Roscommon etc. With the amount of cars there and amount who couldn't make it we have a fantastic community in Ireland. Also given the interest showed by Volkswagen Ireland could we pull off a volksworld show in Ireland? I know there are some great shows on around the country but one big show would be awesome. If we could get a few from the north and international community I think it could be a runner.

Whats peoples taught's?

I think that’s a great idea Robbie. Gutted I missed it myself Sunday and the disappointment of missing it is still here. I think even looking at the level of builds in Ireland from the pictures shows the great culture we have. I’m all for a Volkswagen show in Ireland. Be great to get it up and running.

It's a nice idea. There certainly are enough cars in the country to put in a big show, the Ballsbridge Beetle event certainly showed that. For all the cars there, everyone knows there are more that couldn't make it or aren't finished or maybe the owner has more than one car. If enough promotion was done and enough hype was generated, Ireland could sustain a pretty big show alright.

You need a team of people to drive it though, and that's the first hurdle to overcome. You need commitment from enthusiastic owners, get yourselves organised to tackle selecting a venue, organising insurance, planning a publicity and promotion strategy etc and then people on the day to check tickets, direct traffic, be responsible for sorting out problems etc.

If you can get the ball rolling, I'd be on board to help out in some way, as I'm sure many more would too.
