Myself and Mac made some a few weeks back. It was my first proper attempt at welding. Didn't take long and they were easy to make.

I got a set back when wolf tools were in business. They're great but you need a powerfloated concrete floor to get tge best out of them. My floor is finished with a light texture, by hand I presume. They're hard to use on that surface- especially with the van on them, the extra weight hampers movement.

Draper or sealy do them- try your local motor factors maybe?

I don't know of anyone in Ireland selling them, at least not those cheaper ones. I know someone selling the G0-Jacks but they are like €300 a pair!!!

I have a brand new pair still in the boxes which have never been opened. Never any need for them as my garage is always FULL and no room to move anything! :)

€50 for the pair if your interested. I did have 4 but someone borrowed/nicked 2 and never returned them! :)

Thanks John - two would be a big help for a start - can you hold them for me for a week please? :)

Thanks Trev - I'm planning to end up with a power floated floor. Never thought of Draper/Sealy - I'll give Bradshaws a go for the other six that I need...

I think Ireland is ready for a Harbor Freight or Machine Mart type of shop. With the way things are tightening up more people are going to be maintaining their own cars and they'll need tools.

jebbtools.ie come close, I bought my welder from them but there's so much more that they could do, those wheel dollies are an example.

wolf tools went some of the way but they went tits up internationally shortly after opening up near Castledermot, Co. Kildare. Shame, I got some stuff from them and the quality was reasonable for the amateur car tinkerer...

jebtools have a good selection but not enough of the less obvious stuff...

If I had room for that monster truck I'd fill that space with an oval ragtop and a nice early 911 or maybe a 356 (assuming that I also had the money...)

I bought the exact same set as in your link to roll around my 61 bug in Australia. Like trev says you need a very flat polished floor to use them. They work but no where near as good as I expected. The car always wants to go the opposite direction to the way you want it to, and if you have a stray nut or screw on the floor it jams the wheels. In hindsight I should have of just made some in timber with heavy duty rubber casters on.

Cheers

Steve

i made my own too out of angle and some castors. they great on a good floor, would imagine terrible on anything else. i made my rotisserie with 6inch castors, theyl go over screws and anything on thegarage floor, but would really love to get rubber/pneumatic castors, as could even roll about outside. harbour freight do good 'enough' stuff, have a look and ask Britt if it would be possible to send them over. I have to admit tho, the chinese copy evrything, welders, plasma cutters, metal folders/ rollers, im still waiting for them to copy the go jacks, jesus they would be so handy. 250 i think was cheapest ive seen them advertised. that cj autos has great stuff, i love their lifts they sell.

Thanks for all the suggestions - I'll have a look at John's (knk's) and go from there. I like the timber idea, especially as I have plenty of it liking around.

@Buggyboyshane - I'm shocked that a pillar of the community such as yourself would suggest that I put a tiny dent in Tesco's massive profits by 'buying' one of their trollies for a euro - what are you teaching those kids? :ROFLMAO:
