On the Rivera there are adjustments for the springs which help the top up and I have experience putting a 15' canoe on top of mine and by the simple adjustment put it up and down with the Canoe on the top in the rain. Well to each his own I guess. Your opinion is a valid one and does reflect what others also say about the Rivera.

Ahh I was mostly just pulling your chain Britt ...its a bit of a habit , I don't mind Rivieras at all ...really
Why I even dragged a complete one over and convinced this guy that he should modify the danbury sized hole he had and fit the Riviera roof that it would be a much better conversion

And a damn fine job he made of it too .
Besides forums should have some healthy debate once in a while and not just turn into mutual back slapping shops and I think Brosna should have gotten the general idea by this stage .
Vikings are very cool and well worth saving though the roof usually suffers on them
The Dormoblie type roof is kinda nice too and was even an option on Westys but I shouldn't be mentioning that dirty word
Finally to all you budding Riviera owners I'd recommend you remove and clean out under the fixed front section of the roof if you haven't done it already as it acts as a big funnel for all kind of debris and nastyness over the years and thats really nice once it gets wet .
