Welcome to Eircooled
Our Ethos is simple; We promote, maintain, and encourage the use of classic aircooled vehicles. We run the club in an open, inclusive, and democratic environment. We encourage all members to have an equal say and part to play in the club.
Well our Focus has been in and out of the garage for 6 months now and they still can't understand why the revs build and drop when idling, you wouldn't have more than a few days of that shite with a beetle.
That's exactly what I guessed at on day one (MAF).
I know nothing about modern cars, but it seems the mechanics we're dealing with know even less.
Seriously - they have had it two weeks now and still haven't a fucking clue, 'the diagnostics are giving us different readings' Oh go and fuck off.
They are replacing an unspecified sensor this week, as soon as 'the auld volcano clears'. Gobshites.
New Modern cars require new modern mechanics which just plug in a new part and "Hope" it fixes the problem. With so many sensors and micro switches it's amazing what "Could" be wrong. My 95 Ford has more sensors than you can shake a stick at to make it run
