Wanted: Beetle 5" stock dash speaker

I'm looking for a stock dash speaker to fit a Beetle. I think the radio is a Sapphire. It is fitted but not wired and there is no speaker behind the speaker grill so maybe the radio was just a hole filler, but I'd like to try and get it going. Maybe someone has a spare speaker they would be willing to part with. Thanks

round one or oval? I just fecked a small enough round speaker in the bin this morning. I can fish it out if you need it...

If you're stuck, I got one from work - they were heeling a lot o new round speakers in the bin and I got one to see if it would fit my car. I'll have a try to see if it fits and if you need one I can prob get you one.

That'd be great if they fit I've been looking around though, and the majority of 'off the shelf' speakers in that size range are 5.25" dia. which won't fit the area behind the speaker grill in a bug. If they fit, you should grab them all out the bin!

from memory, this speaker is out of a household midi system. It looks smaller than the ordinary automotive ones. I'll measure it tomorrow. Yours for nowt, it's still currently in the bin!!

Maplin's stock a 'Basic Speaker' which is pretty much an exact fit. The holes in the speaker corners match those in the dash. It's about a fiver.

Cool, there's a Maplin 2mins up the road from here so I'll try that first before I go putting anyone out over a little speaker.
