Get us a picture of the stock servo. I upgraded my mk1 jetta servo to a bigger vento one recently. The mk1 would be contemporary to the T3, a similar conversion might work. Second hand mk3 golf/vento servo can be picked up very cheaply.

what diameter is the stock T3 one? Aside from the clevis where it meets the pedal it looks to be the same as the 9" Vento one. The Vento has a ball on the end but chop it off with a hacksaw, shorten it a bit as required and thread the shaft with an M10 die and you can twist on the clevis from the T3 servo.

see the ball end here:

This is exactly what I did with my mk1 that comes with a poxy 7" servo that happened to be seized too. Couple of hours work is all it is and you should be able to get a second hand mk3 Golf/Vento servo for around €40 or so.

incidentally, a B3/B4 Passat or Corrado uses the same servo but already has the shaft threaded instead of the ball end but they're harder to find second hand and command more money.

there's a how-to for mk1 Golfs here, the same technique should apply to T3s:
