Swaps : Mk1 Golf GTI or Merc 190E ?

Right, Here goes .....
I have 2 cars in my garage that I no longer use, and I want a beetle.

Nothing is selling these days. I need the funds from these cars to buy, so I guess the next option is to swap.

So, Is anyone interested in swapping either of these for a beetle ?

1. 1983 Mk1 Golf GTI 1.8 Campaign, Diamond Silver, all original.
2. 1990 Merc 190E, 2L Auto, Black.

I'd estimate the value of the golf to be around 3.5k, and the merc about 1.4k. (Swaps would have to be of equal value, naturally.)

I'm open to nearly all suggestions, but must be in running order. No piles of junk please

Feel free to tell me I'm away with the fairies, but I have to ask. :blink:

It hasnt changed, apart from being a bit lower now with the proper gti springs. Also gave it new badges and painted the red grille trim.

Havent done any advertising. Need to take some new pics & write a decent add for it. I'm just lazy hhwell:

Don't know about that... I like the idea of swapping...

There aren't many cars I'd consider swapping the Bug for... but I can see myself in a Mk1. I'm sure it's even more fun to drive too.

Yeah its a great idea, and your bug is a fair swap!
And a mark one would be great fun, even if you decided to grow the family

Interior is perfect. It's the original Black/Grey campaign cloth, with black doorcards and black (leather/vinyl ?) headliner. Not even any wear to the seat bolster, which is usally worn through on these cars. It had seat covers on it when I got it.

Even has the original black golf-ball gear knob
