Howdy folks, not sure where to post this really but feel free to move it on.I have a Renault Master I'm thinking of scrapping . I'm gonna buy a T25 pre 85 diesel ,not a high roof one, maybe a panel van,( I have a mint M.k 1 golf with a G60 engine fitted) for an exchange.Sorry ,anyhoo .i was offered 500 euro for it as is . But I reckon I could use the interior if I just got my hands on a panel van.I'll list whats in it and maybe you could advise me what to do.Should I just scrap the van and keep the contents? thanks folks.

2 Captain seats
Water tank with pump
Hot water gas heater thingy Poloma is the make
Thetford toilet ,1 careful owner
3 way fridge
Gas cooker
12v interior strip lights x3
Round table with the holder thingy in floor
Sink and taps
Seats / bed foam

it'd cost you more than €500 to buy all that gear. Gut the thing, keep all the good bits and stick it on donedeal as a "blank canvas" for €500 afterwards :ROFLMAO:

oh, one thing about converting a panel van to a camper, they've made it more difficult with inspections, legislation etc. Might be best to seek out a van already classified as a camper.

I'd say, unless you're very handy, trying to shoehorn furniture not designed to fit into a T25 into one will turn into a bit of a nightmare. And even if you do succeed, what you end up with at the end of the day will be very compromised in terms of fit, appearance and most importantly functionality. The companies that originally converted VWs for camping spent a lot of time and money on the design and ergonomics of their conversions, in order to make the best possible use of the limited space available whilst giving the most functional and comfortable interior possible.

If I were you I'd flog the Renault and put the money toward a nice Westy. And leave the panel vans be. Nice ones are getting rare these days and too many are being lost to sub par camper conversions :)

thanks folks, i was only thinking of keeping the frames for the captain seats and the toilet as it was new when I bought the van,It might be a bit of a tight fit trying to shoehorn the interior in .Trev I was looking to get a van pre 85 I presume I can change it over to the vintage tax ?Kevin , I think the campers are mostly hi roof ,which I think look S*it,Sorry If I offended anybody .Pop tops look the business. Thats why I was gonna get a panel van ,the campers are crazy money and besides i have visions of walnut floor ,high gloss cabinets,chandeliers.NOT. My missus her crazy mind.Standard westy interior ,LCD ,Stereo system , big fridge like you'd see in Molloys.

Not bothered about the DoE,But if I buy say an 85 camper and when its 30 years old as per first reg. date next year ,does it qualify for vintage tax or will it always be camper tax?
