I Need to bring a Brazilian aircooled VW from England (midlands) to restore here and put on the road in Ireland
Presently on axle stands and not driven for 20 years, hence need to trailer it.
Is there anyone out there that that can bring the car from Coventry to Dublin?

nvd won't bring it if its not rolling, i think they may even need it to be driving but there is a guy who will bring it once it will move, do a search for shipping and you will find it

Thanks for the suggestion

Thanks for the suggestion

try contacting NVD.
I've Googled their phone no. and will call them tomorrow. Much appreciated
Re George's reply the car is rolling and should start but wouldn't like to try to drive to the car ferry without a UK MOT and possible seized brakes etc. I'll see what NVD says.

I've a freind that have a recovery business. They'd do it but I think it'd be over a grand. As the boat is 250 or that each way.
I can pass on details. You could always hire out a trailer ?

Or buy one if you are going to spend that money on shipping over.

NVD will only take cars if they can be started and driven on and off the transporter - they use a large car transporter and have several drop off points on a run so the car will need to be moved.

There was a guy - Lorcan who used to do pallets to Ireland - he lined me up with another guy that would bring anything that would roll , sound a bit Only fools and Horses I know but a great service.

Did you have his details George ?( maybe Im off on this one, it was 2 years ago)

I used JK Vehicles as well for my non running Beetle, the guy was very sound, I just gave him the details of the seller and he sorted the rest (including messing on the sellers side), cost £450, which was a similar price to a ticket for a return ferry with a trailer for at the time. Well worth giving him a call.

Thanks Hugo, overwhelmed by the helpful advice, I'll certainly join your club! When my car arrives I was planning to get it recond at a general body shop but perhaps there is a more specialist option in Dublin? The body is factory built fibreglass but ideally I'd like the underside completely repainting; is it best to remove the body? If you'd like to see library photos of the car check www.purringpumas.com
Cheers Martin

Those Pumas are bitchen! They use a different fan shroud as I recall, sort of like a Thing. We had a few come into the dealership where I worked and they were very nice. Most that we got were Coupes but we did get 1 GTS and they all had 1776cc engines with dual carbs on them. Nice ride.
