Over the last while I’ve held the Wicklow Run starting in Dublin making our way in convoy through the Wicklow Mountains. We’ve always got a decent turn out, one issue is the drive is very short but also very enjoyable. Since they’re are very few events on for the rest of the month & in September, I’ve decided to go with this one.
Everyone is welcome, the plan is to get a great spin out and a decent day as well, with hopefully plenty of picture opportunities for the calendar entries along the way. The run will start at Browns Barn, off the Naas road (Junction 4) at 10:30AM across Saggart, Brittas, Blessington and following the road to Tullow were we will catch the M8 motorway to Kilkenny. Our destination in Kilkenny will hopefully be Kilkenny Castle for 01:30 and across the way for food.
My idea of this run is if your coming from Wexford, Laois, Limerick, ect it will only be an hour each way and you can jump on/jump off the convoy. I’m waiting for a reply from Kilkenny Castle about parking in the grounds for pictures, ect.
Let me know if you think it’s worth running with or not. Please let me know which dates suit you best and if any of them clash with anything I’m not aware of.
Saturday 8th of September or Sunday 9th of September.
Saturday 22nd of September or Sunday 23rd of September.
Cheers,
Mikey.
