Recently myself and "post-van man" replaced his 1.6 engine for a 1.9 in his T25. The engine is still at my place and as I'm in the process of moving house it HAS to go.
The following is what he posted over on Type2Ireland:
"Will give away my 1.6 straight diesel after the disaster i had. i was thinking of doing it up, but time and other projects, plus what would i use it for now that i have a 1.9 in my van. its still a nice engine for a golf or something, it never let me down until i decided to drive without water.
its probably fixed with a new headgasket and a bit of skimming. i dont really want anything for it, but will happily take a pair of headlights for a t25, engine bottom cover, or a couple of other small bits that are needed..pm me.
the engine is near limerick by the way, i have an oil sump and pump for it to fit a car not a van tho..
have some other bits too...just get on to me and we will sort something out"
I've just got off the phone from him. It's not worth transporting it to my new house as I'll actually pass a scrap metal place on my way so if anyone wants it, come and get it. If you have ANY unwanted T25 or 70's beetle bits he'd love them but not essential if you want it.
