We are going to have a family friendly camping trip on the August bank holiday weekend. We will be staying in Westport House campsite. Westport house is a great location for kids with stuff for the kids to do up until 11pm and there's an on site bar and restaurant and Westport town is only a 10 min walk away.
Its €38 per pitch/family per night.

Should be a good meet so! Brian are you even going still? Anyone else going? We're going to Galway anyway so we were going to stay in Westport cause we've never been and it's supposed to be a nice spot.

Well the weather is still crap, I'm in Mayo now and will be in Westport in the morning about 12pm.

We'll not be there - there's a possibility that our van is going to be filmed tomorrow (depending on the weather) as part of a tourism ad for Inishowen

Enjoy Westport - hope the weather picks up. Our kids loved it in July - it was pissing down then too

Nice one - it was lovely up here too. The guys got some great footage of our van - hopefully some of it will be used

The sun came out on Saturday and we got our awning set in in the sunshine

On Sunday we went for a drive out to Achil Island, it was lovely, one side of the island was very windy and the other lovley.


We had lunch on Achill in Mastersons


Then went to Keel village and beach and had coffe in a doubledecker bus on the beach

There was loads of surfers in the water.

Looks like a good weekend. Sorry we missed it. Our van is not roadworthy yet.

Yes the bus we have coffee in was a surf school/rental place and a second one was twenty feet away in 53 seater coach. They both rent wetsuits and boards.
