VAG part number "211 201 125 D" but NLA from the dealers.

my inner tight-wad won't allow me to spend that kind of money on a rubber hose unless I really have no other option. Has anyone found a cheaper source? I was down with Jon White yesterday and he hasn't any in stock but can get them at around the same price but he suggested seeking out something from a farm-supply shop maybe?

Anyone cracked this nut in the past without spending big?

Mine is a metal pipe Trev. Maybe you could source a second hand metal one from someone breaking a bay?

wow, thanks Aidan, certainly a few options there. I have an email sent to the very first crowd above, I'll wait and see.

@kev, from what I've seen, the '74-on bays have a rubber elbow just inside the filler cap, then a steel pipe down most of the way to the tank and then the expensive rubber hose connecting that to the tank.
