I just purchased this Bus from the daughter of a friend who passed. I have known the owner and this Bus for 15 years. It used to be a show worthy bus but has sat for 4 years since his passing. His underhanded mechanic stole the engine but I just happen to have a 70 1600cc SP out of a Bus just waiting. While it has sat the critters have gotten in and chewed the Pop Top canvas and left droppings everywhere. Amazingly the Bus is still straight as an arrow with no rust through. The only body damage is on the rear wheel where he had a chain come loose, very minor. Even the area under the front windscreen is cherry. The Camper looks poor because of the Moss growing on it and rust stains from the wrong Bolts used in a few places. It will be night and day after I steam clean it! The Pop Top will look brand new and the paint will come up nicely. Even behind the front tires where the rocks chew up the protective undercoating is in great shape.
I'll pick it up next week and completely strip out the interior and steam clean everything. Then I'll pull the Jalouse windows and windscreen windows and clean there. Here's my list of things to do on it to prepare it for sale.

1. New soft brake lines and Master Cyll.
2. New Pop Top Canvas 3 window Deluxe style
3. New Paint OG Color L90D white Base coat clear coat.
4. Paint wheels and Bumpers proper VW White.
5. Strip Engine tin and paint with auto paint base clear.
6. Install new 30/31 Pic carb.
7. Install new fan belt and put a second spare inside the Bus.
8. Install new clutch and throttle cables and put spares in the Bus.
9. Move Spare tire from front of Bus to inside.
10. Install new windscreen and seal.

This Bus will be an awesome Bus and will be for sale within a month. It won't be cheap but it will be fairly priced at 10K EURO ALL IN delivered to Belfast or Dublin with all shipping, VAT, Duties and customs charges paid. If someone wants to put up a hefty deposit I can paint it a different color and there is an option of a 1776cc or even a 2007 engine for additional money. I'm very excited to get this Camper and get it sold. I will put it on the Samba at $15K US in 2 weeks when it's painted

Somebody has verbally committed to Buy this Bus in Nevada. Don't know how he found out about it but we'll see. He said he saw the same potential that I did. Provisionally sold but not until I see green.

Old girl cleans up real nice! It's OG paint except for the Driver side rear corner. The surface rust on the drip rails are from where he had a custom rack. I took off the fuel door and my paint shop is matching the paint so i can do a bit of touch up.

I'm leaning towards just doing some light touch ups and then giving the Camper a good scrub and coat of wax.As it's said "it's only OG Paint" once! I've ordered a new Pop Top canvas and all new Brake lines and Master Cyl. I'll know tonight if it's sold.
