can you post some rough dimensions, diameter width and thickness of spring

Not without taking the other one out and then putting it back - its not an experience that I'd recommend with the dynamo still in place....

Its roughly similar in size to the inside base of a Duracell AA battery - the centre is a semi circle with a flat base and is mounted on a rectangular pin. Not sure about the thickness though - maybe the same as a 1/2" split pin but I'm guessing. Does that help or do you need more info?

Don't worry about this - had a closer look and the commutator looks past needing just a good clean - reckon I'll replace the dynamo altogether

i found the springs and theyre close but not close enough for the 50's dynamo i tried them on...

Thanks - I'm back in the market for the springs as the new dynamo will have to wait until my current one is a lot more worn - I didn't realise that they were so expensive.

Are the springs that you have tapered at the end where they rest on the spring or are they the same width all the way?
