Hi guys, I just joined here on Eircooled and am looking to sell my beloved campervan due to a change in personal circumstances. The van is a 1974 T2 RHD and is in pretty good nick. The engine is a 1.6 and was new as of sept 2011 and has done 6,500 miles. The clutch, gearbox and carb are all new as of sept 2011. The bodywork including jacking points and wheelarches, pillars and minor chassis are all newly welded parts. The only existing non-new external parts are the roof and the rear corners. All skins are new, new trim, chrome bumpers, new window seals, roof seals, door locks, engine lid, new vw hub caps, new bosch battery, sparks just fitted. The van was borrowed by some friends to make the TV show and I am reluctant to sell but kinda have to and figure may use the tv show as an advert. The van is currently SORN as I have left my former place of residence (relationship breakdown) in the garage. The only problems really are the sliding door is a bit stiff, the velux sunroof window thing needs looked at and the underside of the rear bumper is getting rust spots due to being left unpolished for a while. That said the entire underside is perfectly clean and rust free and was waxoyled in october 2012.
The entire project cost me 9000 pounds and was carried out by the now late John Massey from Newtownards, County Down, who was a great bloke as well as a great mechanic and restorer. All door cards and internal trim is new. I also have replacement eyebrows in chrome and delux chrome window trim yet to be installed which is worth 300 pounds or so. There is a cooker, sink and cooling cabinet in the van and all are good to go. I will send photos on request but please check out the TV show on the 25th BBC 2 at 9.30. My email address is brian_england3@hotmail.com so any questions or requests for pics can be posted here or via email.
Sorry for the big message, first time selling.........oh and am looking 8,500 for the van but am open to sensible offers......
