There's a chap I know who has one, well his wife does. Hasn't used it for a couple of years, is sitting in his driveway and has asked me if I'd know anyone looking to buy one, as he doesn't want to see her rot into his driveway...!!!
It's got the original Marathon wheels, all with centre caps and if he gets his asking price you can have the commemorative medallion too. He say's he'd rather it go to someone who'll maybe put the money into her and hopefully keep her on the road.
I've had a good look over her and she needs A LOT (a VERY VERY lot) of work. As much work as my own does or maybe even more.... so he's asking €700 and any inspection welcome. I didn't try start her but did turn the pulley wheels by hand and they moved quite freely and there's pretty much zero endplay in her too. She doesn't have her original engine by the way, it has a 1200cc with a D engine code (1965 onwards as far as I know).
Still deliberating whether to take her for spares for my own, but in reality other than the engine, wheels and trimmings there's noting there I could use on mine.
Anyone interested in a project let me know and I'll pass on his number. He's in Clondalkin.
I took pics whilst looking over her and will post a few here a little later.
Regards,
Paul.
