I'm planning to sell our 1972 RHD Dormobile.

Not sure where is the best place to sell.
Thinking of a no reserve sale on eBay.co.uk to open up the market to potential UK buyers more easily.
Any recommendations ?

Throw up a few more pictures here along with a realistic price and you may not even need to put it on ebay.

The last time you had it for sale you had alot more info about it up. Copy that and paste it here too.

It's a 1972 crossover bay. It came from the factory to the UK (RHD) with early bay bumpers and low front indicators but it has the late bay tall rear lights and front disc brakes and that's the way it is today, stock height aswell.

It has been fully restored to it's original colour 'Neptune Blue' allover. Lots of new (genuine VW where available) parts: cab doors, rear corners, tailgate, sills all new seals and wheel arches. This was professionally done in 2008 by Tom Roberts. Since the restoration there is some surface rust on the grille, bumper and gutters which I will get an estimate on but it would obviously suit me better to sell as seen.

It's a Dormobile conversion, again pretty original inside, the only addition being a gas/12v fridge. I've changed the front seat covers and have material for all the panel cards so the inside has been freshened up to match the outside.

It won the (non member) best in show prize at the Clare Classic and Vintage Car Club show in 2009.

It comes with lots of history. There were two previous owners in the UK (a father and son) so it was in the same family since '72. It's been all over europe (2)97k miles and it's going strong on a 1641cc, it's 4th engine. Engine 3 didn't last long I'm told. You never get that kind of history when there's half a dozen owners.

The Front Beam has been replaced with a rust free Californian one and the torsion leaves replaced plus gas shocks all round, so it handles like a 911.....well maybe not but it certainly handles as good as it did in 1972.

I'd certainly like to get over 10k for it. I am open to reasonable offers.

Time wasters, tyre kickers and dreamers welcome so long as they have pockets full of cash!!

Feel free to PM me or ask questions online for more details. I will add a few more pics when I get it out into the sunshine.

Someone PM'd for pics of the underside.

Times like this I'm glad I got a car pit built. Mind you, the builder wasn't impressed that I made that decision after the garage roof was on.
