I've organised something else to do the job this was going to do so if anyone is looking for something like this, talk to me.

it's basically a hacked-up 1302 chassis with rotten floorpans, great big holes in the tunnel (looks like they got a grizzly bear to help with replacing a clutch cable. It has a swing-axle 1965 1200 gearbox (go figure) lashed in with type3 4-stud rear brakes and stock 1302 drums up front. Bodywork is non-existant save for the bit from the windscreen forward (left attached to support the struts to keep the old-dear rolling). No doors, no glass, however, bonnet is available for a small few quid extra. No log book, no IRS rear arms or spring plates, just swing-axle stuff in the back-end.

basically it's an IRS-pocket donor for a swing axle car, you might get use out of the gearbox if you're particularly sadistic. Maybe the front suspension/steering parts will be useful too.

selling at a loss at €50 no offers. Bonnet extra €20. bring your own wheels...

I presume it's the bit from the chassis number (missing BTW) rearwards? I could chop that off for you and dispose of the rest. I have to do a trip to the scrap yard shortly anyway with the bones of that green passat.

you did read that it has a swing axle box fitted with swing axles? IRS a-arms, drive shafts etc are all gone sadly :(

"D" code, want to double check as I'm not certain it's a '65?
It's got 4-stud drums attached.

this is a pie-ball of a job, came from a REAL pie-ball of a car. I actually took delight in destroying it with a sledge hammer :ROFLMAO:

a swing axle equipped 02 is a good one alright. i don`t know about dating them from the code. can you snap a quick pick of the outer axle tube or take a quick measurement ?

here`s the difference, it`s only shorter from the spring plate outwards

quick samba search tells me D code could be from 65 to 69 1200. i`m hoping the use of type 3 brakes would suggest it`s a short axle, the wider brakes would push the wheels back out to closer to stock long axle/ irs position
